Witmack Power Hub

Location: Toowoomba, QLD

Queensland’s first hybrid solar and gas power station, with micro-grid, received development approval from Toowoomba Regional Council in early 2019.

Situated on the edge of the Witmack Industrial Park (part of the larger Toowoomba Enterprise Hub) the Toowoomba Technology Power Plant (TTPP) is FK Gardner and Sons first development foray into the energy sector.

The project involves the creation of a 100MW gas power plant and 50MW solar farm, which will operate in synergy 24/7 to support the electricity needs of the nearby Pulse Data Centre. There are also future plans afoot to capture and utilise CO2 for industrial applications and/or to improve rural enterprise productivity.
