’s Principal Ecologist, Dave Fleming, has been completing fauna surveys for a proposed renewable energy development in southern Queensland.
The surveys targeted greater gliders and koalas, both of which are listed as vulnerable under Queensland and Federal environmental legislation.
Both species were detected during the surveys as well as other critters such as rufous bettongs, sugar gliders, squirrel gliders, microbats and thick tailed geckos.
The information gained from the fauna surveys will be used to identify habitat areas for these threatened species, which can then be avoided by project infrastructure as far as practicable.
