icubed consulting have a multitude of experience in designing bridge structures for local and regional councils. A lot of our expertise is in the field of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) road bridges that are certified to carry AS5100 SM1600 vehicles, water and debris forces and earthquake loads.
These road bridges can be cast in situ with a concrete deck, or precast offsite for quick installation. icubed also have the capability to design and certify reinforced concrete, post-tension and timber road bridges.
We have become industry leaders in the design of light-weight FRP footbridges around Australia and New Zealand. These footbridges can span up to 35 m and are capable of withstanding pedestrian and vehicle loading, flood and debris actions, and wind actions. The bridges come to site prefabricated and ready to crane into position.
This allows these access routes to be open to the public within hours. icubed have also developed technical methodology to accurately assess pedestrian-induced vibration on the footbridges. icubed presented our findings in this niche field to industry experts at the European Composites in Construction conference in Amsterdam, 2017.
