Juiced TV : Behind the Scenes Visit

Due to icubed consulting’s involvement in the Paddle for Kids 2018, paddlers were offered the unique opportunity to watch Juiced TV in action on the set at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital. Natasha Gouriev, Sarah Greinke, Sione Manu and Roxy Malvaez were delighted to take up this invitation. Every week, Juiced TV creates approximately a 25-minute Kids program that is broadcast throughout the Queensland Children’s Hospital in each ward via the Patient Entertainment System. The program was initiated in 2015 and has touched the lives of almost 1800 patients and their families. The content of each episode varies from animal shows, cooking demonstrations, musical workshops and hospital staff profiles.

The episode filmed on our visit was ‘From the page to the Stage” where we witnessed a book come to life through puppetry, music and the imagination of Luke Reeves and Sarah Whalen from Meerkat Productions. Watching the skills of the crew filming and getting the kids like Crystal (pictured) to star and be involved was amazing. The filming which took nearly 3 hours (and we enjoyed every minute of it) was then cut down to only 5 minutes for this 23-minute episode! (check 6:37 onwards)

It was a humbling experience to witness the enjoyment had by all those on set, particularly the children involved. Having a fun and interactive activity to participate in whilst in hospital is a truly great initiative to take the focus away from the reason they are there. Juiced TV do a tremendous job week in and week out and icubed consulting are proud to have donated and be involved this great program.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Pip Russell, Amanda Broomhall and all of the Juiced TV Crew for inviting us.
