After participating in the QLD Corporate games earlier this year, the team at icubed had a taste for racing and were more than happy to accept the invitation to be involved.
After initial donations from friends, family and generous corporate sponsors, icubed director Nick Canto wanted to ‘up the ante’ and surpass their original fundraising goal. This set off a wave of competition in house to sell as many tickets as possible in a raffle with some great prizes donated by icubed.
We took out the prize for the highest team fundraiser for the day with a massive $14,845.51 raised for the Children’s Hospital Foundation which includes our Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital here in Brisbane. 2017 Paddle for Kids raised $52,000 which was blown out the park this year with over $93,00 raised to help sick kids.
Although there are only 20 people on the Dragon boat, the entire office got involved selling tickets, finding sponsors and helping behind the scenes. Everyone had a great time at the event on a perfect winter’s day at South Bank Parklands where there was a great sense of fun and community by all of the participants, supporters and the general public.
