icubed Breathes New Life Into Turn of the Century Home at New Farm
icubed has breathed new life into a turn of the century home at New Farm, Brisbane.
Our client, under the guidance of icubed, has resurrected what was once a dilapidated house by transforming it into a stunning family home for future generations to enjoy.
The renovation has turned this 2-bedroom cottage into a five-bedroom home including a generous master suite. The living area was extended to open out to a large, open entertainers’ deck while still respecting the surrounding New Farm character.
The old Queenslander, was raised approximately one metre to allow for new lower level accommodation, doubling the internal living space. With the house being raised, the old existing brick fireplace required some ingenious engineered solutions to save its integrity, a challenge overcome by icubed’s structural engineering team.
We assisted our client with the provision of urban planning, building design and structural design services to achieve their dream to renovate this classic New Farm dwelling.
