icubed consulting was engaged to design the civil engineering elements of a development at the Colmslie Business Park in Morningside.
The icubed Civil team designed, documented, and certified the sediment and erosion control measures, earthworks, light-duty car park pavement, site grading requirements, stormwater quality and conveyance, water and sewer connections, and internal line marking. Through the design stage icubed also undertook a value-add process, which looked to ensure that the designs met the client’s financial requirements and were most cost effective.
The rear of the site is required to cater for the overland flow path of the newly constructed upstream subdivision, which presented some challenges for the site grading and stormwater requirements. Consideration as to how this flow path tied into the internal site constraints was given to ensure a safe and operational site usage was provided.
In liaison with our client, icubed designed the high-risk sediment and erosion control (high risk SEC sites require designs certified with RPEQ and CPESC qualifications) required on the project site. A staged construction approach was undertaken to ensure that only necessary portions of the site were unsealed during the earthworks stage, that stormwater outlets were always protected, as well as site access locations.
