Hitachi Construction Machinery Emerald, QLD
Scope of Work
Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) required a new branch office catering for the demand of the growing mining sector in the Bowen Basin. The facility provided workshop and warehousing capability for maintenance of mining machinery up to 120 tonne and storing of all componentry for Hitachi’s construction equipment range. A modern professional office (600 m2) was also included as a part of the project. Hitachi’s office policy required an ‘open plan’ layout with select meeting rooms.
The workshop design incorporated associated tool rooms, libraries, lunchrooms and workshop amenities and the provision of a 20 tonne gantry crane. The project features concrete pavements specifically designed for the loads from tracked equipment, external hardstand areas, a large paint booth and a wash area with the use of reticulated rainwater to minimise water use.
