Barrett Burston Malting
Scope of Work
Barrett Burston Malting engaged BuiltEnvirons Queensland to design and construct an 86,000 tonne Malt Processing Facility adjacent to the existing Graincorp Malt Storage facility in Pinkenba, Brisbane. Core elements of the project involved the construction of twelve, 180 tonne steel framed ‘steeps’ silos, with a 1ML concrete discharge tank underneath them and the construction of three (3) 30m diameter germinating vessels and a 40m diameter kiln operating at 90 ºC
icubed were the design engineers for the majority of civil works on site and assisted in coordinating imported elements with the ground structures. The project required the installation of over 500 driven piles.
Stormwater, water and sewerage was designed to meet the plant’s needs incorporating a 24hour/day sewerage discharge line and trunk main infrastructure of 1.2km of rising main designed and project managed by icubed.
icubed were instrumental in the design of a number of utility structures for the site including cleaning plants, silo supports, offices, plant structures and weighbridges.
