In late 2016 icubed was lucky enough to be a part of the EDL Developed Coober Pedy Renewable Hybrid Project. This ARENA (Australian Renewable Energy Agency) funded project involved a combination of 4MW of wind, 1MW of Solar and 1MW of Battery Storage. The construction of the Coober Pedy Renewable Hybrid Project means that 70% of the annual power demand of the Coober Pedy township will be met with renewable energies.
The Wind Farm component of the Coober Pedy Renewable Project was managed by Senvion with the construction of two of their MM92 Turbines standing a proud 126m above the local landscape. icubed operated as the designers for our long-term construction partner OTM Civil Constructions who completed the civil scope of works for the Wind Farm, including the construction of the two 300 cubic metre mass gravity foundations.
Coober Pedy marks the thirteenth successful project that icubed has worked alongside Senvion (formerly Suzlon) to deliver. It also marks the sixth renewable project that we have delivered with the team at OTM, proving a successful working relationship between the teams.
